In the 2002 remake, the Yawn starts out with an HP value of 3000, increasing to 4000 in the second encounter. This is in comparison to Chris' and Jill's HP values of 1400 and 960, respectively. In the Nintendo DS version of Resident Evil, a second Yawn is discovered upon returning to Point 42 (formerly occupied by Plant 42), this second one having developed hardened scales. In all versions, if the player gets bitten by Yawn, the only way to heal is by using the serum. Unfortunately, blue herbs don't work against its poison.
