Gordoff is a Skandian who allowed Erak Starfollower to borrow his prized helmet. While on a mission undercover on a wolfship Halt wears that helmet to disguise himself. When that wolfship goes through rough waters and Halt begins to feel sick, he finds a good use for the helmet. However Erak didn't think so saying,"I'm not sure what I'm going to tell Gordoff about that." We can only hope Gordoff didn't get too angry...
