Clan Alya was a Bothan clan. After the planet Kothlis was purchased by the Bothan Council, Clan Alya was one of three clans allowed to settle it. The clan was influential in both Bothan politics and the Bothan Spynet. By far the most famous member of Clan Alya was Borsk Fey'lya, Senator of the Bothan sector and Chief of State of the New Republic. Another notable member was Koth Melan, the leader of the Bothan Spynet during the Galactic Civil War. Members of the clan who completed their goals in life acquired the "y'lya" honorific.
