The Master of Ceremonies presided over the Northern regional final of the Miss Bettabuy competition and announced the results: Miss Luddenden Foot in third place, Miss Blundellsands in second, and Miss Stalybridge as the winner. Weatherfield's entrant, Raquel Wolstenhulme, was left bitterly disappointed not to have won and had to be comforted by Curly Watts.
