[[Category:Encounter ]] [[Category:]] Icy terrain is an evocation spell learned by some wizardly initiates that uses cold terrain to impede the wizard's foes. When a wizard casts icy terrain he or she fills a small area within fifty feet with a thick layer of ice, which causes any creatures within the area's five foot diameter without fast enough reflexes to slip and fall to the ground. For the next few moments the affected terrain provides a small impedement to enemy movement. The spell is easily learned and easily cast, but it drains its caster enough that a rest of a few minutes is required before the spell can be cast again.
