Thomas Pitt Cholmondeley-Tapper (Cholmondeley pronounced CHUM-lee; born in Wellington, 31 July 1910 – died in Headington, Oxfordshire, 27 July 2001) was an auto racing driver from New Zealand, the first greatest New Zealander auto driver before Graham McRae, Chris Amon, Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme and others. He competed in the 1936 German Grand Prix. He died in England at 90 years old, just 4 days from his 91st birthday, in 2001 and was buried in Piddington Churchyard.
