Pig wrestling is an ancient sport which involves people wrestling with special pigs, which have been ceremonially greased with a herb-and-garlic butter. If the pig is toppled, it is seen as a good sign, signalling a good harvest, fortune in battle, and things alike. The sport is no longer practised widely, for by the end of the Fifth Age pigs were barely bred. In the Sixth Age, however, a farmer named Eli Bacon, from a family of pig wrestlers, discovered more uses for pigs than just wrestling when one of his prized wrestling pigs caught flame and was baked to delicious pork meat the farmer named after himself ("bacon").
