The Defender Mothership is a fast attack carrier designed to deliver starfighter squadrons and dropships to a battle safely and the design's emphasis on speed allows it to escape an unfavorable battlefield with its precious cargo intact. At a speed of 11 km/sec the ship's designers hailed it as "the Rim's answer to the previously uncatchable Mon Calamari."
