Starfleet set up its camp on the peninsula near the ruins of what had been the Karnoth resettlement camp in the Cardassian occupation. The location provided Starfleet the best transmission quality in all of Hedrikspool Province. The remote site also allowed the large operation to go somewhat unnoticed.
