Gena married at a young age to Ralph Newman, presumably sometime after she joined the Marines, where she earned her call-sign Mother. In the early 1990's, Mother took part in joint American-Australian operations in Iraq during Desert Storm. During this time, she encountered Jack "Huntsman" West Jr of the Australian SAS.
