Crewman Boyce was a member of the Starfleet personnel, assigned to Deep Space 9, serving under Captain Benjamin Sisko. In 2372, Boyce was killed on the USS Defiant during an attack by the Jem'Hadar in a gas giant. (DS9: "Starship Down") This character was only mentioned in dialogue.
