The DY-1100 class was a type of Earth spaceship. In the year 2372, Chief of Operations Miles O'Brien tentatively identified the Alerica as a DY-1100 class, although Worf pointed out it was actually a much older DY-700 class starship. (DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)
