The Decatur Blaze are a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team from Decatur, Illinois based out of the Decatur Civic Center. The team was founded in 2012 as the Bloomington Jr. Blaze based out of Bloomington, Illinois . The team relocated to Decatur after the 2013-14 season when the United States Hockey League added a team in Bloomington. The team joined the United States Premier Hockey League along with the rest of the Midwest Junior Hockey League membership for the 2015-16 season. The team moved to the United States Premier 3 Hockey League for 2016-17 when the USPHL reorganized the USPHL Midwest league.
