The Nottingham Universities Mavericks are the most successful university ice hockey club in Britain. The annual Nottingham Varsity Ice Hockey game is the largest in Europe, selling out the 7,200 seat National Ice Centre. A joint club between The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, the Mavericks also accept players from the universities of Leicester, De Montfort, Loughborough, Lincoln and Derby.
