The Miserable Mill (2000) is the fourth novel in A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. In the novel, the Bauldelaire children venture out to a lumber mill in Paltryville, desperately trying to find a safe home. The children are disconsolate immediately after arriving at the mill, being forced to work and live in terrible conditions. A disturbing eye clinic is located near the mill. When Klaus breaks his glasses and needs to make a visit to get them repaired, will he ever make it back?
