PEZ dispensers first became popular in 1955, when the PEZ company placed heads on the dispensers and marketed them for children by putting in candy pieces. Now considered a collector's item for many, dozens of franchises have been adapted into PEZ dispensers, including many of Pixar's films. They have been producing Pixar-themed PEZ dispensers since 2006.
