The High Priest Not to be Described is a mysterious figure residing alone in a prehistoric monastery on the Plateau of Leng. An identity is not given but possibilities include a moon-beast, an avatar of Nyarlathotep, or the King in Yellow, Hastur. In The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, Randolph Carter encounters the High Priest and this description is given: It is also described as praying to "the Other Gods and their crawling chaos Nyarlathotep."
