Captain Lag was a skinny, hard-working rat who served under Kyo Firesly. He was given orders to dig more "Plunder Tunnels" (as Kyo called them). Coincidentally, Lag was the one who had dug the tunnel that killed Pine. Lag's patrol of rats had accidentally dug into the Cavern of Many Deaths, and later into Kitalpha. Morning, beserk and half-dead, slayed all of the vermin, but died herself soon after. It was known that Lag was the only rat that Kyo had ever mourned, and was given a proper burial, funeral, and holiday in Kyo's Horde.
