Dominic "The Sledge" Russo is the former Don of the Russo crime family. He was arrested and successfully prosecuted by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. This has left a power vacuum in the family. At one point, the Sledge's son, Sean Russo, attempted to step in and fill the void, shaking down businesses like the Guys & Dolls strip club, but Sean lacked the ability to understand the value of delegating tasks to underlings, and thus when he murdered a nosey speaker salesman named Donald Gibson, the NYPD managed to find evidence that implicated him.
