A regen brace was a piece of medical equipment used to heal broken bones. During the Priam IV test at Starfleet Academy circa 2358, a reptilian Orion character broke Cadet Tasha Yar's wrist in a fight. Afterwards, he reset her bones and placed a regen brace from a medical kit over it, after which the pain subsided. (TNG novel: Survivors)
