Cartoon Network is an Canadian English language Category B specialty channel that is expected to launch on July 4, 2012. The channel is based on the U.S. Cartoon Network, which broadcasts animated programming aimed at children daily for 24 hours of cartoons. The channel is wholly owned by Teletoon Canada Inc, a 50/50 partnership between Astral Media and Corus Entertainment, with the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim branding in use through a licensing agreement with Time Warner, the owners of the U.S.-based Cartoon Network. The channel is available in both standard definition and high definition.
