When Mera led forces for the Disciples of Bane, Palum was always at his side. This changed however, when he stayed behind on Eriadu due to a knee injury while Dan went off to capture Jedi Master Dooku and his apprentice Qui-Gon Jinn. Palum was tortured by the Disciple's leader Darth Galepius and put under mind control so that he could spy on Mera.
