The Rusted Cutlass was a an old battered corvette owned by Mendel Cutter of the Dread Pirates. When Cutter decided to retire from piracy, he attached his ship to Zirtran's Anchor. When Zirtran's Anchor reappeared after its mysterious disappearance, the Rusted Cutlass was missing, leading people to think that Cutter actually escaped the disaster. Leo Bellsfar of the Phosphura Belt Pirates named his ship after the Rusted Cutlass.
