In the late 21st century, a united space-faring humankind is threatened by a virus that is affecting the reproductive system. In an effort to avert the inevitable extinction of Homo Sapiens, a secret government program is tasked with the development of a treatment. As the search grows increasingly desperate, scientists begin investigating unusual possibilities : Recently discovered feral life-forms on the distant Planet X exhibit a highly adaptive reproductive system. Their so called hyperseeder ability is eventually developed into a gene-therapy that not only restores fertility but makes humans compatible for sexual reproduction with almost any species.
