Kadir was a term referenced in the Children of Tama language metaphorical phrase, "Kadir beneath Mo Moteh". In 2368, after Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise-D greeted a Tamarian deep space cruiser, which left the latter crew clueless as to what was said, the first officer uttered this phrase to Captain Dathon. Later, on El-Adrel IV, when Picard made an attempt at emulating the Tamarian language, the words meant nothing to Dathon and he uttered this phrase to himself. (TNG: "Darmok" ) According to the script , Kadir was pronounced as "kuh-DEER".
