Matt Murdock is the son of a professional boxer, Jack Murdock, who is known as "The Devil." One day, Matt is involved in an accident where a truck carrying toxic waste crashes. The waste splashes on Matt's eyes, blinding him. As a result, however, his other senses are heightened. Shortly after the accident, a mobster approaches Jack and orders him to throw an upcoming boxing match. When Jack refuses, he is assassinated. Matt encounters a woman named Elektra Nachios, who's father Nikolas has ties to businessman Silvio Manfredi. Nikolas been secretly trying to screw Manfredi over.
