In 2152, General Gosis was a military commander in a pre-warp nation-state on a planet visited covertly by Captain Jonathan Archer, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, and Ensign Hoshi Sato. When Archer and Reed returned to the planet to retrieve a lost communicator, they were captured by Gosis' species, specifically the military he served in. Gosis was played by Francis Guinan. In the final draft script of "The Communicator", he was described thus; "Gosis is an ambitious and ruthless officer; he's prone to paranoia when it comes to defending his government and its territory."
