There are very large incarnations of these statues found in the final chamber in The Great Sphinx called the Pharaoh's Honor Guard, some sort of a boss enemy. Neb-Kemi, a undead minor boss encountered in the side quest The Corrupted Priest, is also always protected by a few of these statues.
