Tempe was the second planet in the Khoosin star system, located within Federation space in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was a class M planet, and had two moons, and was the site of an Orion colony and a Federation colony. Tempe was an ocean world, with a cool temperate climate and frequent storms. From its surface, the red star Khoosin was a described as a "vague red ball". The planet's fertile seas teemed with marine life: fish, whales and other aquatic creatures. It was a Class M world, with a terrestrial atmosphere and a cool temperate climate, with a 24-hour day.
