In the timeline of the Federalist Failure, the Mexican Empire was established in 1821 under a regency, and on May 19, 1822, the National Congress named General Agustín de Iturbide as the first Constitutional Emperor of Mexico. The coronation was on July 21, 1822 (celebrated today as Empire Day).
