Alpha Mensa V was an planet located in the space of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, the fifth planet in orbit of the Alpha Mensa star system. In the early 23rd century, this was a colony world, home to a Federation population. Alpha Mensa V was a childhood home of Hikaru Sulu. (TOS novel: Spock, Messiah!) The novel Spock, Messiah! noted this world to be Sulu's birthplace, but canon later established he had been born in San Francisco in TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: The Voyage Home.
