The 42nd demon listed in the Ars Goetia, Vepar is a Great Duke of Hell with 29 legions of demons under his control. He governs water and guides armored ships full of weaponry, he can also make the sea stormy, rough and full of ships. He can also make any man die in three days by putrefying his wounds, causing worms to grow in them, nevertheless if he is asked by his conjurer he can heal those wounds instead. He is depicted as a mermaid and also known as Separ or Vephar.
