The Evansville Western Railway is a Class III railroad in the United States. The railway began operation January 1, 2006. The railway was created after Four Rivers Transportation, Inc., the parent company of the Paducah and Louisville Railway, leased 124 miles of track from Howell Yard in Evansville, Indiana, to Okawville, Illinois, from CSX Transportation. The line was formerly part of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad's Evansville, Indiana to East St. Louis, Illinois line. There is expected to be 55,000 to 60,000 carloads a year on the new short line.
