Match fixing was the act of tampering with the outcome of a sporting competition by giving one of the competitors an unfair advantage or disadvantage. In 2370, Quark attempted to fix a racquetball match between Julian Bashir and Miles O'Brien by drugging the doctor with a potent anesthetic hidden in an energy drink. His plan was foiled when Bashir analyzed the beverage and discovered it. (DS9: "Rivals")
