The Wellington was a Weatherfield public house frequented by Vera Duckworth and her friend Joyce Walters in 1976 which they gave up on as it started to be frequented by too many married couples and not enough single men. Instead they called in at the Rovers where Vera made a beeline for someone she knew to be single - Fred Gee!
