Lieutenant Logan was a male Human Starfleet officer in the 24th century. In 2364, he served as one of the chief engineers aboard the USS Enterprise-D. While on a mission to the planet Minos in 2364, he came at odds with Lieutenant junior grade Geordi La Forge when the latter was placed in charge of the Enterprise-D by Captain Jean-Luc Picard. The Enterprise came under fire from a Minosian weapon in orbit of Minos, and Logan insisted that La Forge give him command due to his superior rank and experience. Instead, La Forge ordered him back to main engineering. When La Forge decided to do a saucer separation and battle the enemy only with the stardrive section, he placed Logan in command of the saucer section and gave him the order to retreat to Starbase 103.
