The Merton Overloader was a machine built by Merton Engineering Co. Limited of Feltham, Middlsex that was based on a Fordson E1A Major. The machine was designed to scoop up material such as sand and grave or coal and lift it up and dump it into a lorry without having to turn round like a loading shovel.
