Celebration III was the third Star Wars convention in a series held by LucasArts to celebrate the May 19, 2005 release of Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Over 34,000 fans attended the four-day event, which was held from Thursday, April 21 to Sunday, April 24, 2005 in Indianapolis, Indiana. There were many booths with merchandise and displays, and members of the 501st were predominant at the event. George Lucas made an appearance on the 23rd, confirming a Star Wars live-action television series and Star Tours II.
