A larger, more durable variant of the Crates also exist, these devices usually contain larger amounts of energy and ammunition. They are usually found in areas with high Space Pirate activity. Large Space Pirate Crates appear to have some sort of complex spinning locking mechanism. There is also a different, simpler type of Space Pirate crate found in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
