Stein was born in Marquette, Michigan and attended the Juilliard School in New York. She has been seen in many stage plays and over a hundred television commercials. Today she is a meditative healer, practicing Sat Nam Rasayan, and has participated in several charity programs for kids. Television credits include Murphy Brown (1993, with Scott Bakula), Deadly Games (1995, with Christopher Lloyd and Paul Eiding), and recurring roles in Providence (2002, with Jeffrey Nordling and Cress Williams) and General Hospital (2006).
