Tōme Arisawa (有沢 塔芽 Arisawa Toume "Lit"; Sprouting Tower, Swamp brought into existence) is an unusual human who possesses the ability to turn into a Shinigami, much like Ichigo Kurosaki has the ability to. She is the daughter of Tatsuki Arisawa and an unnamed man. She appears to have been afflicted by the desire materialization of the Hōgyoku imparted within her when her mother was in the presence of Sōsuke Aizen in his transformed state. She appears to partner her close friend, Konjiki Kojima, the son of Mizuiro Kojima in order to repel threats onto Karakura Town.
