Luthanna was a beautiful Dúnedain woman who was the future wife of Lord Thadred of Amon Sûl. While riding southward to join Thadred in marriage with all her handmaids, they were suddenly ambushed and slain by Orcs. Her death drove Thadred in a state of madness and grief, in which he died of a broken heart on the eve of what would have been his wedding.
