Aeglos, also known as Snowthorn, was a plant that grew on Amon Rûdh in the West Beleriand during the First Age. Aeglos was similar to furze, but larger, and with white flowers. In Narn i Chin Hurin, Tolkien described it as a long legged sweet smelling plant creating gloomy "aisles" beneath the roof of branches. Tolkien also described it as being similar to the yellow flowered gorse bushes that grew in Ithilien.
