Latonan has no currency. A rogue NID cell damaged the Sentinel and it was up to SG-1 to see about getting the device operational once more while the planet was being attacked by the Goa'uld System Lord Svarog. SG-1 was successful in their mission, though it is unknown how many people were enslaved or killed while the Goa'uld had access to the planet. (SG1: "The Sentinel")
