Rovers were still without a home win in the 2012–13 season after this League Two defeat to Cheltenham Town, a result which ended a brief three-game unbeaten run. Former Rovers man Chris Zebroski scored the only goal of the match for Cheltenham towards the end of the first half. He was one of three ex-Gas players in the Robins' squad, along with Steve Elliott and Darryl Duffy. Zebroski received such a negative response from a section of Gashead support that it prompted the club to issue a warning on the official website, reminding fans that abusive language is not acceptable.
