Cyrano de Bergerac was a French swordsman, poet and writer. He was the subject of several works of fiction, and said to have remorselessly advanced on those that had dared poke fun at his nose. The Master of the Land summoned Cyrano in his mental battle with the Second Doctor. (TV: The Mind Robber) The Twelfth Doctor claimed to have practised swordfight with him.
