The word Near-Human was a general term typically used to denote any species or sub-species found in the Milky Way Galaxy that shared a similar biology and characteristics to that of baseline Humans (Humanity). Most of the time, it was believed that many Near-Human species shared one common genus or ancestor, Homo-sapiens sapiens and that they deviated from each other due to conditions that called for adaptation and evolution. Sometimes, the term "Humanoid" was loosely used to describe Near-Humans, although it was usually used in a derogatory manner due to Human ignorance and supremacy (Prehistoric era).
