In 2015, Marty McFly Jr. was convinced into helping out robbing the Hill Valley Payroll Substation with Griff Tannen, but was caught at the scene when Griff and the gang left earlier and he was trucked off to the penitentiary. His sister Marlene attempted to free Marty Jr. from his cell, but was caught and sentenced to 20 years in the penitentiary.
