Sonic Unleashed is a mobile phone game based on the console video game of the same name. The game was announced at E3 2009 and was later released on June of the same year in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. It contains eleven levels and retains Sonic's ability to transform into the Werehog. All the graphics come in sprite form, which makes this game comparable to a common 2D platformer. Unlike the console versions, Sonic has the ability to go underwater without dying (but can still drown eventually), much like traditional 2D Sonic games. The game received mixed to positive reviews.
