Dario Franchitti is the first Scotsman to win the Indy Racing League and only the 2nd to win the Indianapolis 500 after his idol Jim Clark Dario announced on November 14, 2013 that he would have to retire from auto racing after injuries he substained from the 2013 Grand Prix of Houston.
